today i stumbled upon this wonderful website (link below) which shed some light onto my inquiry of the positive effects the internet has on the music industry and it provided a breakdown of that, complete with charts and links and everything!
Some points it highlights are that while only mainstream, big label bands find success and popularity on the television or radio, the internet provides a means by which smaller bands can distribute their music at low or no cost. This is a hugeeeeeeee point which I overlooked in forming my initial opinion.
cant wait to find more.

hmmmmmmm
In the process of researching for this independent study, it has occurred to me that despite the common belief is that the internet is killing the music industry, there is potentially a plethora of positive effects to result from new technologies and networking possibilities. Basically, that which is believed to be destroying the music industry could potentially be simply reshaping it. I look forward to finding more about the truth behind this potential situation.
